Consultation & collaboration
MUSIC MAKERS as a Future Learning Space is set up with parental consultation and involvement. Age apppropiate groups for children utilize corporate knowledge and skills where the older teach the younger- heritage, language, customs and cultural values through song and dance. Children benefit from oral language, social interaction, self expression and from belonging to a group. They grow in skill and confidence to create, design and produce according to their own talent and gifting. Parents of young learners receive support and enjoy a sense of community in this collaborative space.
Resources
As mentioned, the most valuable resource in this Learning Space is people, and the culture, language, experience, talent and creativity they bring. Music can be made anywhere, beginning with simple percussion, voice and movement. Refugees are by experience, resilient and resourceful. 'Music Makers' encourages opportunities to create hope and stimulate creative expression.
